About Us
Sherman Oaks Lutheran Children’s Center, SOLCC, is a non-profit private Christian based preschool, offered by the Sherman Oaks Lutheran Church. It was established in 1974 and is considered one of the best year round Christian preschools for children 2 – 6 years of age. This top notch school offers flexible hours for different family schedules, including a half day program from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, a 3/4 day from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, and a full day childcare program for working parents from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. The school has a huge appeal to young children, as it is based on a zoo theme with each classroom named after childrens' favorite zoo animals.

The curriculum at SOLCC is developmental, play-based, and integrative. Integrated curriculum connects different areas of study by cutting across subject-matters and emphasizing unifying concepts. Students with more flexible thinking patterns are more likely to be successful once reaching adulthood. Integrated curriculum results in higher student engagement. Our teachers present their lesson plans in a loving Christian environment.
We offer a variety of enrichment classes to enhance your child's development. Research has shown that extracurricular activities can build teamwork and problem
solving skills, cultivate self-esteem and
confidence, enhance problem solving and conflict resolutions, and encourage superior academic performance.
Examples of our enrichment classes are: music, soccer, science, chapel, karate, dance, gymnastics, and physical fitness.
The summer session at Sherman Oaks Lutheran Children’s Center is engaging, warm, and fun! Children enjoy water play days, creative arts, weekly special entertainment experiences, and more! All of this takes place in a loving, environment with low student-to-teacher ratios.
